Meet The Team (Cont)
RANDY PORTIS (CONT.)
He then became the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Portis & Associates which was a progressive organization that connected academics with Character and Values Education to promote efforts to dismantle the structural inequality in public education. This innovative perspective was intended to transform the public discourse and policy that maintained schools as strictly academic facilities rather than as social institutions. It structurally welcomed all students by utilizing new ideas that embraced the intersections of race, gender, class, and other barriers that disempowered all members of public-school education who were marginalized in this society. As COO, Randy ensured the advancing and expanding of curriculum, instruction, and training in more than 900 school districts in the United States and several foreign countries. The focus was for school districts to institutionalize the advancing and expanding racial justice, gender equality, and the individuality of all human rights, here in the US and internationally.
During his tenure in Washington, DC government, Mr. Portis served as Special Assistant to the Director, a Program Analyst and Trainer. He analyzed the extent of public understanding of programs and determined the need and type of information and education messages. He advised the agency Director regarding public reaction to proposed programs and policies. He performed in-depth analyses of a wide variety of issues, problems, and operational concerns as indicated by the Director, constituents, public and private interests. Randy provided excellent customer service to constituents, public, and private interests.
Mr. Portis is the co-founder of R&D Human Resources Management, LLC, serving as the COO and now as the CEO of the new Tax Services Branch. Randy has extensive studies in business, accounting, and has taken three years of eight-week tax preparation training along with other IRS-offered classes and webinars and is now leading his own tax preparation team.
